I purchased this and 2 micro SD cards to put in my Sony PSP. I was excited when I received this, but when I went to install it, it only read 1 of the two SD cards. I did a little troubleshooting (many years in electronics work) and found both of the SD cards worked just fine. Tried again, still only read 1 of the 2 cards in this adapter. Was about to give if the 1 star rating but instead I sent the company an e-mail through Amazon. They responded same day and let me know that they shipped a new Adapter out.
Received the new adapter 2 days later. Put both micro cards in it, popped it into the PSP and wallah, I now have 16GB of memory on my PSP.
.IND File Extension. Named 'MEMSTICK.IND' and is created by the Sony PlayStation Portable. Such as digital camcorders, may create an additional file named 'MSTK_PRO.IND' for Memory Stick Pro media cards.
This way came out much cheaper then buying one of Sony's overpriced Pro Duo 16 GB cards. Also gives you more flexability.
I noticed I was only using about 7 GB on my PSP so I just swapped one of the 8GB micro cards out with the 2GB micro card I had in my phone. Now I have plenty of space in my phone and PSP and didn't have to spend any more money to do so. I highly recommend this product, and if you have any problems with the adapter, simply contact the company or Amazon and they should help you without any grief. I bought this product about 6-7 months ago. I was a bit worried when I found it to be a rather cheap/lightweight feeling plastic. However, despite this it did work very well at first and doubled the size of my PSP save storage for a damn good price. Unfortunately this was not meant to last.
I take very good care of electronic devices, so believe me when I say that the very cheap plastic molding cracked on it's own, while sitting in the case it came in no less. Not only did it crack but I guess it was pretty close to failing already as the seams between the two pieces of plastic that makes up this device came apart completely at the same time. Basically, it fell apart even in very careful care.
So, that's my word of warning to anyone who purchases this. It might work at first, but be prepared as it appears to be very cheaply made and may fail/fall apart even while treated very carefully. I plugged in two 16GB cards, and the PSP saw it as one 32GB storage card. The format seems to change the memory card itself to some extent, so if you ever need to remove the memory card and use it in something else, you may need to use a memory card format utility to fix how much space the memory card is reporting.
When freshly formatted, access time is quite quick, but when you have a lot of files copied to the memory card, access time increases. My PSP can take up to 12 seconds to list videos, whereas a normal memory stick would only take just a few. This doesn't affect video or music playback at all, however games that require a lot of loading may suffer in speed.
The plastic does feel flimsy. It did not break at all while installing the memory cards, I was even able to take them out and reinstall them again without breaking the plastic, so if you are careful, you shouldn't have a problem. Pros: Great price, makes for an excellent way to get use out of spare memory cards.
Cons: Slower access speed when a lot of files are copied to it. It will change the memory card, so additional programs will need to be used to repair them if you no longer want to use them in this device. I've used one of these adapters in my PSP for almost a year and it has worked flawlessly. I just upgraded the memory in my phone so I bought another adapter so I could use the phone's old micro SD in my PSP too (the adapter will work with just one micro SD, just put it in slot 1) The PSP complained when I tried to format the card.
It would either report a format error or report that there was no card inserted, even though the PSP seemed to read the card just fine. I just upgraded the PSP to the latest firmware, and I hope this isn't Sony taking steps to shut out this product (after all, it's the only way to get 32GB on a PSP, unless you buy the PSP Go, but even then you top out at 32GB). At any rate, the memstick.ind and mstkpro.ind files were on the card so it looks like the format was started at least. I re-created the default PSP folder structure (MPROOT, MUSIC, PICTURE, PSP, and VIDEO), copied over my files and the card is working fine. My guess is that the PSP didn't see a genuine Sony Memory Stick, so it was throwing a tantrum. In the end, it works and that's what matters. Love the product!

I bought the PhotoFast adapter some time ago, after doing a whole bunch of research on different adapters that provided the same functionality. It works as expected right out of the box.
It is a great product which gives you the flexibility of having dual MicroSD Cards in your PSP. And trust me, it is totally worth it.
Personally I'd rather have MicroSD cards because of the fact that they are so standard across different devices. I have a Samsung Omnia and a camera that use this type of memory so it was a no brainer. I saw a 16 gb MicroSDCard that is already available but I havent tried it. You should also know that the adapter also WORKS with only one card inserted, which is great!! I love my PsP and this product is the best purchase that you can do if you love yours too! I run on my PsP a few PSx games so MEMORY is my main problem and this adapter works like a charm!
You can fit 2 small MicrosSD-HC and get up to 32GB easy, I have 2 8GB & after format the card on the PsP read a total of 15GB for less of what will cost a MemoryStick (Sony MSproDuo 16GB $97.67 the cheaper here on amazon). The card looks fragile, but I'm not surprised because is hollow in order to fit the MicroSD cards, I will recomend to keep the adapter all the time on the PsP so there is not risk to damage it plus the adapter behave as a HC card so many readers will not work, what is one more reason to keep it on the PsP.
I've been trying to put some games on my psp slim version 3.60 m33 modified with pandoras battery and memory stick. The firmware has been loaded poperly because in my system info, it now says 3.60 M33 instead of just 3.60. I tried loading the game folder, using my usb connection but the psp says file is currupt.
I tried converting the folder an dumd data to an iso using UMDGEN but the iso doesn't even show up on my psp. This may seem like a dumb question but trust me, i've been reading but mos info is on downgrading and upgrading firmware.
Any help would be appreciated. Also i saw on you tube some psp slims with alot of games on the memory card. How do you fit so many games on it considering the average psp game is anywhere from 400-800mb. Thanks for any response. ^^ The method the user above me posted works 100% perfect ^^ In order to make it a little more user friendly, let me try to explain it this way: The 'Root' of your memory stick, is the very first folder you open. You know your in the root if you see these folders: MPROOT MUSIC PICTURE PSP VIDEO if you can see those folders your in the right spot.
This is what you do from the Root of the Memory stick: Right Click (anywhere that there is NOT a folder already at, so that it brings up a task bar that has: View Arrange Icons By Refresh Paste Paste Shortcut Undo Copy New Properties once you see that task bar, you need to move your mouse over the word 'New'. From the 'New' task, click on 'Folder'. You should now have A new folder in your Root thats called: 'New Folder' Now rename that new folder: ISO So now your Root should have: ISO MPROOT MUSIC PICTURE PSP VIDEO Now after you legally get your PSP game ISO's you just click and drag them into your newly created 'ISO' Folder. Once they are in your ISO Folder you can take the PSP out of the 'USB Mode'. Now just go to your 'GAME' folder on your PSP (as if you were going to launch A UMD Game) Go all the way to the bottom of the GAME folder till you see an icon called 'Memory Stick'. Press the 'X' button over this 'Memory Stick' Icon and you will then see your Game ISO's (If you did everything right).
Now you can just press 'X' over the desired game (they will have the name of the games) and then you can play.
